Out of the mouth of babes.....

conversation tonight with Olivia:

o- those are the pants I was wearing when I hurt my leg on Lulu's cage
m- oh yeah
o- my boo boo is all gone
m- wow, when did that happen?
o- Jesus took my boo boo away
m- really?
o- he takes all of my boo boos away

further into the conversation....
m- what else does Jesus do for us?
o- makes me a birthday cake
m- I don't think Jesus makes birthday cakes
o- he does now

I guess she does more then play in nursery, she's listening too....

Hair Pulling

I was in the other room and I heard Malaki crying and when I went in to check, I found him with his little fist holding onto his own hair very tightly. I had to pry his hand open to let go of his own hair! As soon as his hand opened and he released his own hair, he was happy again. Funny kid

Happenings

I've decided that I'm going to use this blog as a journal and not only do photo updates on our family but document the happenings of our family. The past year has been a year of growth and change but we wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. We may not have been born in Texas, but we feel like we are home. We moved our little family of 3 from San Bruno, California to Justin, Texas in June of 07. It's a very small farming community north of Fort Worth. We were fortunate to be able to buy a very nice home that we though was huge (compared to our 2 bedroom condo in ca)until we saw our neighbors houses, now we feel kind of small. Since being here, we have met lots and lots of great people, there is some truth to "southern hospitality". The biggest change has been the welcoming of our son Malaki. He's a very sweet baby that was born with a cleft lip and palate and it only makes him that much more special to me! Olivia is a big girl of 3, who loves preschool, her friends, church, her puppies and all she wants in life is a pony and a kitty. Daddy has only said yes to the pony, once we buy some land (some day). Right now our current trial in life is Tomas is out of work but we know it won't last forever. I'm enjoying being a stay at home mom. I joke that I don't like to be called a house wife because I don't like keeping a house, just my kids, so I only refer to myself as a stay at home mom! Most importantly, I have learned this past year; that my Heavenly Father knows me individually, that prayers are answered, miracles do happen, callings are blessings in disguise, a ward family can be just like your biological family and we are truly blessed- with faith, everything is possible.

Siblings?

I get asked often, who do I think Malaki looks like? I think he looks a lot like Olivia did at his age, what do you think?

1 Month Old

I can't believe Malaki is 1 month already. It's been a rough month, with recovery (me), recovery (him-circumcision), finding a schedule, finding a nipple he likes, the never ending chore of pumping, a visit from grandma, Dustin, Jill and Jay and all the other visitors and outings, especially doctor appointments and last but not least, lack of sleep! Oh course I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world, well, maybe a couple of million dollars, just kidding Malaki. Tomas has been working on his artist photography this month with our newest model.

A Blessed Weekend

We celebrated Malaki's blessing this weekend (while grandma was still in town) and we were blessed to have Jill and Jay join us for all the fun! We went out to dinner Saturday night and after the blessing, we went to the Angeli's for lunch and swimming. The kids had fun and the adults enjoyed talking and a game of water volleyball.
