Easter Weekend Bash!

We started the Easter weekend with Olivia's party on Thursday and it just was one big party for the rest of the weekend. Friday, Lisa and I took all the kids to the movies to see; Horton Hears a Who. It was very cute and the kids enjoyed the movie, even Troy who thought that it was going to be a baby movie. Cheryl and her family came in Friday night and stayed at our house, it was fun to have a full house. Saturday there was a free Easter carnival at the speedway, Cheryl, Glen, Tomas and I took all the kids but it was super crowded and the kids voted to just go to Lisa's and swim. Lisa and Mark heated the pool, the day was gorgeous, did someone say Spring was here??? Tomas stayed in the pool with Olivia and Logan pretty much the whole day! We had lunch there and then we took the kids home for naps. That night we all met at an Italian restaurant, where we stuffed ourselves with bread and pasta! The younger kids came back to our house to dye eggs after dinner while the men went back to the Angeli Man Cave (aka media room). The next morning we did Easter baskets and off to church we went. After church we met at Lisa's house for lunch and an egg hunt! We had over 300 plastic eggs and some real ones just so we can make deviled eggs and potato salad. I do believe we are all candied out and it was a great weekend to celebrate the sacrifice our Lord, Jesus made for us.

Easter Party

Olivia hosted an Easter party for her friends yesterday. It's spring break out here so our numbers quickly grew, once you say yes to one older sibling, you have to say yes to them all! Our numbers ended up with 20 kids and 9 adults, thank goodness I have a huge backyard and it was a nice sunny day. We started off making "baskets" to collect the eggs, I purchased small gift bags in different colors and had the kids decorate them and put their names on them. Next we had lunch, it was pot luck, so I made Leslee's recipe for meatballs and I had chips and salsa. Other families brought fruit, sandwiches and other types of dips. Then the egg hunt began... I had figured 7 per kid, so I had 140 eggs and I hid them in my living room and outside. One of the mom's brought extra, so there was plenty of eggs, candy and in fact Olivia and Logan kept finding some after the kids left. Of course I was so busy being hostess that I forgot the camera, so no pictures. And for the very last part, I made little pails with Easter grass and candy for the kids to take home. I think it went pretty well for having so many people in the house. Now I have to start planning Olivia's birthday party.

Side note: today was our 4 year anniversary and we celebrated by taking the kids to Dickey's BBQ. We're in Texas you know, BBQ is every where....LOL

Snow in Texas???

I would never had thought that Olivia's first snow would be in our own backyard but it snowed today, not just a little snow but all day long, the kind that coats everything! Olivia of course doen't own snow equipment but we made due and let her play for awile in the cold, wet stuff. She loved it!
